Who we are

SILA co-founders Andrea Saldarriaga and Andrea Shemberg have been at the leading edge of business and human rights for more than 15 years. Their experience includes being part of the team that developed the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights – the authoritative global framework on the subject. They have also been deeply involved in investment and human rights policy discussions at multilateral institutions.

Andrea and Andrea’s experience in law and with civil society, multinational companies, financial institutions, investors, governments and academia spans the globe. With broad professional insight, deep technical knowledge and a practical approach, they have a unique ability to identify core challenges, build common ground and forge a path forward to advance respect for human rights in business and policy across geographies and cultures.

Now is the time

Now is the time is SILA’s platform for original thinking on major issues of our time—and the centrality of human rights to those issues.
